At the beginning of June, a roundtable entitled “How women shape the future” was held at the Aqua Terra Zoo (Haus des Meeres) in Vienna. This provided a stage for inspiring women working in technical fields. How to attract women to technical professions was one of the exciting topics, and industry experts also gave an insight into their everyday working lives.

“We have to start much earlier to create an awareness of what technology can be, what studying can be, what STEM professions can be and what error culture can be,” said Sylvia Geyer (Rector FH Technikum Wien) about how to inspire women for the tech industry.

In addition to Sylvia Geyer (Rector of FH Technikum Wien), the panel also included Robert Kaup (Tietoevry), Linda Mohamed (EBCONT) and Alexander Hochmeier (FACC).

The event was a spin-off of the SHEtech Online Days, organized by sheconomy and SHEtech X Vienna Business Agency with support from INiTS. Sheconomy sees itself as a platform that brings impressive women before the curtain and is also published as a magazine in print form.
