From Vienna to a village in the Bregenz Forest – what if such a trip could be booked in three stages via a single portal? By e-scooter to the train station, by train to Bregenz, and finally by regional shared cab from the Bregenz train station to the destination. “Mobility as a Service” means that various offers from different providers can be compiled, booked and paid for via a common platform from the customer’s point of view. Karl Wildner, graduate of the master’s program Integrative Urban Development – Smart City, has dedicated his master’s thesis to this topic in 2022. Together with Lukas Rohatsch<\/a>, a current contribution for the 3rd edition of the publication series “TrendMobility” of the Austrian Traffic Telematics Cluster<\/a> (ATTC) was created on this basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article clearly presents what was surveyed in the course of the work: In the context of the master thesis, political framework conditions, technical implementations and social aspects were considered in detail and empirically researched with the help of an app prototype, in which all functions from routing to payment are included. On the one hand, the test subjects were very enthusiastic about the possibilities, on the other hand, risk factors for the implementation were identified.
