Andreas Teuschl-Woller<\/strong><\/a>, head of the research area Tissue Engineering and Molecular Life Science Technologies<\/strong><\/a> at the Faculty of Life Science Engineering<\/strong><\/a>, was selected by the committee of the prestigious GRC Konferenz<\/strong><\/a> to give a presentation. The conference titled “Silk Proteins and the Transition to Biotechnologies – Gordon Research Conference” was held at Bryant University, Rhode Island, USA from July 9 – 14, 2023 and was limited to 200 leading experts in the field of biomaterials in tissue engineering.

Participation with a presentation is by invitation only for leading scientists in the field. This was an opportunity to discuss current, unpublished research results with other top researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silk-based biomaterials for tissue regeneration of tendons and ligaments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In his presentation, Teuschl-Woller addressed current work at UAS Technikum Wien in the field of silk-based biomaterials for tissue regeneration of tendons and ligaments, which was developed at the FHTW within the Austrian Clusters for Tissue Engineering<\/strong><\/a> in cooperation with Morphomed GmbH<\/strong><\/a>. The research results were then intensively discussed among the expert audience. This enabled the deepening of existing contacts and the initiation of new ones and brought many exciting inputs that will be useful for further research work.

Students also benefit from the lively exchange in the international top field of UAS Technikum Wien in the research field of Tissue Engineering. Cooperation partners at renowned institutes in the USA, for example, offer master’s positions for students in the master’s program Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine<\/strong><\/a> every year, which can be funded with the help of the Marshall Plan Scholarship. “The feedback from partners here is consistently positive, which speaks for the high relevance of the training in the program,” Andreas Teuschl-Woller is pleased to say.
