Vienna’s Deputy Mayor Kathrin Ga\u00e1l (SP\u00d6) recently paid a visit to UAS Technikum Wien to exchange views with Managing Director Florian Eckkrammer, Rector Sylvia Geyer, Equality Manager Mariella M\u00fcller and Course Director for Renewable Energies Manfred Tragner.
A central concern of the discussion with the City Councilor for Housing, Urban Renewal and Women was targeted measures to promote women in technical professions. Ga\u00e1l was given fascinating insights into the production of miniaturized industrial robots, in which the individual production steps run completely automatically. According to Eckkrammer and Geyer, advancing automation is creating new and higher-skilled jobs. It is important, they say, to recognize this change and train skilled workers with the qualifications that are currently in demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rector Sylvia Geyer underlined the importance of practice-oriented education at the meeting with the Vice Mayor of Vienna. She highlighted a project of the Digital Factory (part of UAS Technikum Wien) that produces fully automated miniature robots for teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Florian Eckkrammer, FHTW graduates are in high demand because they bring not only theoretical knowledge but also sound practical skills.
The topic of climate-conscious building technology, which includes socially responsible renovation, is also a high priority for CEO Eckkrammer and Rector Geyer. Work is currently underway on a new dual master’s degree program in this area.
Safety topics and pioneering future technologies such as 3D printing, AI and modern robotic systems were also discussed. After the lab visit, a joint working discussion concluded the vice mayor’s visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
