Katerina Lanickova<\/a> (staff member in the Teaching & Learning Center – Teaching Support Team) and Patricia Schmidt<\/a> (Master student in the Industrial Engineering & Business program) presented their research results in the course of the “International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Learning &\u00a0 IGIP International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy (ICL)<\/a>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Novel approach to dam inspection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Patricia Schmidt, wrote the paper titled “Surface monitoring at dams using drones and AI-based analysis for advanced anomaly assessment” under the supervision of Dr. Andreas Probst, and presented it to an international auditorium. The master’s thesis, which presents a novel approach to dam inspection, was written while working at VERBUND AG<\/a> and not only provided the opportunity to prove oneself at an international conference, but also to make new contacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current process of further development of courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Katerina Lanickova presented on the topic “Change our tomorrow: Course redesign for continuous quality growth with peer exchange and reflection”. In this short presentation she described the current process of further development of courses at UAS Technikum Wien with a special focus on the ongoing “Collegial Reflection Workshops”, which are an important part of this process. The collaborative approach of peer reflection and peer support in course development was explained in more detail, the methods and processes of the workshops were presented, and initial evaluation results of the first year (academic year 2022-2023) and planned adaptations were presented. The lecture was followed by an interesting exchange with lecturers and other experts from technical universities in the European Higher Education Area, where different approaches to LV further development were discussed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
