The Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme was launched in 2022 together with Lapland University of Applied Sciences<\/a> and Fontys University of Applied Sciences<\/a> and took place in Vienna for the third time this year. The aim of the BIP was to find possible solutions to current challenges in areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, transport, healthcare, and the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a kick-off in February, which included a short-term mobility to Lapland UAS, the participating students from the three higher education institutions met to form teams and develop their project topics. Workshops on Morobot, node-red and machine learning laid the foundations for the projects. Teambuilding activities and excursions during the week in Rovaniemi helped the team members to get to know each other and the culture of Northern Finland better. The project work was continued online during the semester and completed on-site at UAS Technikum Wien in May.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

During the week in Vienna, the students were able to finalise their projects together and present them to a jury on Friday. This year’s projects included, for example, an automatic waste separation system, a robot for agriculture that measures the water level of soil and a machine for layering burgers. In addition to the project work, there was also a tour of the Digital Factory and leisure activities such as a city tour of Vienna and a dinner together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme is a combination of short-term mobility and online teaching. It allows students to work in international project groups and gain intercultural experience in addition to academic knowledge, especially if long-term mobility in the form of a semester or internship abroad is not practicable for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
