The Research Forum 2024 at IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems provided a platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and research results. Representatives of UAS Technikum Wien presented their current projects and discussed the future of digitalization, climate neutrality and renewable energies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovative projects and presentations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Representatives of UAS Technikum Wien presented a series of impressive papers and posters. Karl Michael H\u00f6ferl<\/a>, Phillipp Thunshirn<\/a> and Frederike Ettwein<\/a> presented their contribution \u201cBetween bits and kilowatts – How Viennese households are living out the digitalization of their energy system\u201d. Daniel Bell<\/a> and Karl Michael H\u00f6ferl discussed \u201cClimate-neutral studying, teaching and research – but how\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy communities and climate fitness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another highlight was the contribution by Jasmin Helnwein<\/a> und M\u00e9lanie Michel<\/a>, who addressed the question \u201cWho and what is climate fit?\u201d. Frederike Ettwein, M\u00e9lanie Michel and Peter Illich presented their research on the \u201cTransformative power of energy communities: insights from the inside\u201d. Alexander Hirschl-Schmol<\/a> and Daniel \u00d6sterreicher<\/a> also discussed the potential of small wind turbines in Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technological innovations and best practices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Manuel Trampert<\/a> und Alexander Erber<\/a> presented the project \u201cPowerShade & Solarer Parkplatz Teesdorf – Best Practice for Building-Integrated PV\u201d. Simon Schneider<\/a> and Manuel Trampert showed how \u201cEnergy Building Modeling from gappy GIS Data\u201d can be implemented. In the field of teaching, Jose Garcia Estrada<\/a>, Sebastian Rauh<\/a> and Robert Fellner<\/a> presented the integration of virtual technologies in teaching by means of virtual laboratories and mixed reality teaching artifacts in industrial engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentations on artificial intelligence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Special attention was paid to the research project AIAV \u201cApplying and Understanding AI\u201d, which was presented by Lucas Muster<\/a>, Judith Klamert-Schmid<\/a> und Wilfried W\u00f6ber<\/a>. This project, funded by the MA23 of the City of Vienna, implemented a knowledge hub on the topic of artificial intelligence. The online platform aiav.technikum-wien.at<\/a> aims to improve the decision-making ability of SMEs through freely available content such as explanations, short videos and program code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future collaborations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Research Forum 2024 at IMC FH Krems offered representatives of UAS Technikum Wien a valuable opportunity to present their projects and exchange ideas with other experts. The projects presented impressively demonstrated how diverse and innovative research at UAS Technikum Wien is. The event laid the foundation for future collaborations and further progress in the research areas presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
