Under the motto \u201cFriend or Foe? Unleashing the Creative Power of Generative AI&#8221;, innovative concepts for the use of artificial intelligence in the energy sector were presented and discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Increasing efficiency through precise data collection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his presentation \u201cBuilding Renewable Energy Application in Extreme Cold Climate\u201d, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/munkhbayar-buyan-7ba748158\/\">Munkhbayar Buyan<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/must.edu.mn\/en\/\">Mongolian University of Science and Technology<\/a>) spoke about the importance of data for energy efficiency in buildings. He explained how the detailed collection of data from heat pumps, climate conditions, PV systems and ventilation systems can provide valuable information to optimize energy consumption. For cold climates, among others, Buyan showed how crucial real-time data is for adapting and improving energy efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">AI-based fault detection in power grids<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/personal\/david-fellner\/\">David Fellner<\/a> (UAS Technikum Wien, Head of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/studiengaenge\/bachelor-erneuerbare-energien\/\">Bachelor<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/studiengaenge\/master-erneuerbare-energien\/\">Master Renewable Energies<\/a>) presented his research on the detection of misconfigurations in power distribution systems using data-driven approaches. The title of the lecture was \u201cData-driven misconfiguration detection in power distribution systems\u201d. He emphasized that the decentralization of power generation brings new challenges for the stability and reliability of power grids. Fellner showed how the use of deep learning at device level and machine learning at transformer level can detect misconfigurations that could affect voltage stability in the grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Challenges and future work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both presentations highlighted the need for precise data collection and analysis to ensure the efficient use of renewable energy and maintain grid stability. Fellner emphasized that future work will aim to expand the use cases and conduct extensive field tests to further increase the reliability and efficiency of fault detection. The event, which was summarized on this day under the topic \u201cAI and Beyond\u201d, was moderated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/personal\/momir-tabakovic\/\">Momir Tabakovic<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/personal\/stefan-litzenberger\/\">Stefan Litzenberger<\/a>. The International Week at UAS Technikum Wien impressively underlined how artificial intelligence can offer innovative solutions for energy efficiency and grid stability. At the same time, it was emphasized that a critical and reflective approach to the technology is necessary in order to use its advantages responsibly and effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2
