The 6th International Artificial Intelligence and Games Summer School brought together researchers, game developers and students from various countries
from June 17 to 21, 2024 in Valletta, Malta. This year, Alexander Nimmervoll from the Cloud Services & Security competence field and Markus Petz from the Software Engineering & Architecture competence field also took part in the Summer School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interactive workshops and specialist lectures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Summer School offered interactive workshops and numerous presentations by experts from academia and industry. The conference was the perfect opportunity to exchange ideas with peers, make new contacts and initiate new collaborations. The focus of the event was on the use of AI techniques in and for game development. Artificial intelligence (AI) can be used as a tool to further improve the gaming experience. The aim of the Summer School is to spread AI knowledge beyond the academic field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to Giorgios N. Yannikakis, Julian Togelius and Stephen Peacock for the interesting and well-organized conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reception and cooperation in Malta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We would also like to thank the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Sandro Spina, who gave Alexander Nimmervoll and Markus Petz a very warm welcome at the University of Malta campus. We look forward to working more closely together in the future and would like to thank him for the guided tour of the university and the Institute of Digital Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
