In September 2024, the Faculty of Computer Science & Applied Mathematics<\/a> took part in a study trip to northern Italy The trip to Milan, Bologna and Padua was attended by Bachelor’s students from the Computer Science<\/a> and Business Informatics<\/a> degree programs and students from the Master’s degree program in Business Informatics<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The academic highlights included visits to the renowned universities Polytechnic of Milan and Milano-Bicocca as well as guided tours of the traditional universities in Bologna and Padua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program also included exciting company visits, such as to the IT service provider Zucchetti and the Austrian branch of BWT in Milan Another highlight was a visit to the state-of-the-art Leonardo data center, the second most powerful supercomputer in the EU The visit to the H-Farm innovation hub in Veneto, which specializes in entrepreneurship and the promotion of start-ups, was also very special This study trip not only provided insights into the current technological and economic situation in northern Italy, but city tours in Milan and Bologna rounded off the program with insights into the diverse history and culture of the region<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe study trip to northern Italy combined the best of the European tech scene with the spirit of the ‘dolce vita’. Inspiring technology and Italian joie de vivre – a perfect mix of professional exchange and cultural enrichment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants would like to thank all the organizations that welcomed them during the study trip for their hospitality, insightful presentations and interesting discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
