Particularly exciting: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metusanfuture.at\/installation\/\">\u201cWOLTRONIC UAV\u201d<\/a> project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metusanfuture.at\/installation\/\">&#8211; an ultra-light assembly drone<\/a> that is being developed using the latest technological findings in the field of flight technology. The idea: to use lightweight construction to create a drone that is more efficient and versatile in use. This drone can offer a new dimension of possible applications, particularly in urban environments and in areas that are difficult to access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Possible applications and functions of the robotic drone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The robotic drone was specially developed to install modules precisely on overhead lines. It flies semi-autonomously to the designated installation point and attaches the respective module either directly to the contact wire or to the suspension cable using an integrated automatic screwdriver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to the drone technology, the work process is greatly simplified and accelerated, which keeps operations on the line running as smoothly as possible. By using them, rail operations can be optimized despite the installation work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Cooperation with experts from UAS Technikum Wien<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presentation was supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/patrick-eisner-276444310\/\">Patrick Eisner<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/studiengaenge\/master-maschinenbau\/\">Master&#8217;s in Mechanical Engineering<\/a>), who moderated the discussion between the students and the experts. The students had the opportunity to discuss their questions and ideas in more depth in direct talks with the experts. The exchange on the practical requirements and opportunities in drone technology and the particular challenges in lightweight construction was particularly valuable.
