Under the title \u201cCircular Economy: Think Outside the Box\u201d, a broad specialist audience was invited to discuss innovative approaches and technologies that can make our economy more circular and sustainable. The event was a complete success, marked by lively discussion and valuable ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Keynote speech: circular economy in focus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After the welcoming address by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/personal\/momir-tabakovic\/\">Momir Tabakovic<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/departments\/industrial-engineering\/\">Climate-Fit Buildings and Districts<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/departments\/industrial-engineering\/\">Renewable Energy Technologies<\/a> fields of expertise), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/personal\/david-fellner\/\">David Fellner<\/a> (Head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/studiengaenge\/bachelor-erneuerbare-energien\/\">Bachelor&#8217;s in Renewable Energies<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/studiengaenge\/master-erneuerbare-energien\/\">Master&#8217;s in Renewable Energy Engineering<\/a> programs) introduced the event&#8217;s topic. The keynote speech was given by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/roman-stiftner-09a31b57\/\">Roman Stiftner<\/a>, managing director of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber&#8217;s Mining-Steel and Non-Ferrous Metals Associations. Stiftner provided exciting insights into the challenges and opportunities of a circular economy and laid the foundation for the subsequent discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Experts discuss the future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The panel discussion, moderated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/wolfram-groschopf-01909bba\/\">Wolfram Groschopf<\/a> (WU Vienna), brought together leading experts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/constance-weiser-10925646\/\"><strong>Constance Weiser<\/strong><\/a> (RENOWAVE.AT) talked about the role of construction projects and cooperatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/michaelheiss\/\"><strong>Michael Heiss<\/strong><\/a> (Siemens) focused on digital ecosystems such as the digital product passport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/josefschoeggl\/\"><strong>Josef-Peter Sch\u00f6ggl<\/strong><\/a> (Modul University Vienna) highlighted technological innovations in recycling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/roman-stiftner-09a31b57\/\"><strong>Roman Stiftner<\/strong><\/a> (Austrian Federal Economic Chamber) introduced economic perspectives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/hubert-fechner-6594aa1a2\/\"><strong>Hubert Fechner<\/strong><\/a> (IEA PVPS) presented advances in photovoltaics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/klaus-fellner-2b40729b\/\"><strong>Klaus Fellner<\/strong><\/a> (ENGEL AUSTRIA GmbH) discussed resource efficiency in industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussion showed that circular economy is not only driven by technological innovations, but also by new business models such as sharing concepts or decentralized energy systems. The importance of cooperation and social acceptance was emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">A strong team from UAS Technikum Wien<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The organization and support of this event was carried by a dedicated team from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/fakultaeten\/industrial-engineering\/\">Faculty of Industrial Engineering<\/a> at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/personal\/momir-tabakovic\/\">Momir Tabakovic<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/personal\/david-fellner\/\">David Fellner<\/a>, Sabine Zangl, Natalie Taupe, Jens Leibold and Horst Orsolits (Head of the Industrial Product Life Cycle Technologies Competence Field). They contributed significantly to making the event an inspiring experience for students and professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Questions from the audience and a positive outlook<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After an intensive discussion, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions of the experts. The lively participation underlined the great interest in the topic of circular economy. Finally, Wolfram Groschopf thanked the team from the UAS Technikum Wien for the successful implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\"
