On June 11, 2025, the \u201cMaster AI Student Showcase Night 2025\u201d<\/strong> took place at the FH Technikum Wien with around 100 participants. Students in the fourth semester of the Master’s program in AI Engineering<\/a> presented the results of their master’s theses in a conference-like atmosphere with scientific posters and interactive live demonstrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The master’s theses presented covered a broad spectrum of current AI research, with a focus on large language models (LLMs) and their diverse applications. Among other things, automated reporting systems, chatbots with retrieval-augmented generation, guardrailing strategies for LLM outputs, and code completion for Android development were presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI-supported knowledge graph construction and classification of neighborhoods in the context of climate change<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The range of topics was complemented by reinforcement learning for optimizing neural networks, self-supervised learning from EEG data, AI-supported knowledge graph construction, and innovative approaches in the field of computer vision and transfer learning. Socially relevant applications such as real estate market analysis and neighborhood classification in the context of climate change also found their place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interplay between game development and AI<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another focus was on the interplay between game development and AI. Projects investigated, among other things, how AI behavior affects game balance and fun, developed RL agents for Mario Kart 7<\/em>, and generated game mechanics such as recoil patterns with Perlin noise. In the game TechBreach<\/em>, various UI designs, ballistics systems, and their influence on the gaming experience were analyzed. Other work dealt with adaptive balancing, player typology, and the automated analysis of screenshots and trailers to predict game properties, demonstrating the potential of AI to enhance immersive gaming experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentation of the \u201cBest Poster Awards\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The diversity of topics not only underscored the interdisciplinary nature of the program, but also the high innovative potential demonstrated by the students in their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards the end of the evening, the highlight of the event took place: the presentation of the \u201cBest Poster Awards.\u201d<\/strong> The awards were given to projects that were particularly impressive in terms of both content and visual presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
