In the relative ranking (number of start-ups per 1,000 employees), the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien is Austria&#8217;s number one, ahead of large universities such as the TU Wien and WU Wien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ranking was conducted as part of the Munich Impact Study by the Technical University of Munich and analyzes the period 2014\u20132024 based on over 51,000 startups. The study measures the so-called \u201centrepreneurial impact\u201d of academic institutions \u2013 i.e., their ability to initiate startups beyond teaching and research and to strengthen regional innovation. The evaluation is based on the assignment of startup founders to their educational institutions using publicly available data sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEntrepreneurship is a fundamental part of the innovation culture at Technikum, and Technikum is an important part of the local startup scene,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/content.technikum-wien.at\/en\/staff\/rafael-rasinger\/\">Rafael Rasinger<\/a>, Head of Innovation, Scaleups &amp; Networks. \u201cOur 18,000 alumni have already achieved a great deal
