At the end of September 2025, Michael Fischer<\/strong><\/a>, managing director of METUSAN TURNING GmbH<\/strong><\/a> and METUSAN FUTURE GmbH<\/strong><\/a>, was a guest lecturer in the \u201cMechanical Engineering in Industrial Practice\u201d<\/strong> course in the Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering<\/strong><\/a> at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his lecture, he gave students exciting insights into current topics in industrial mechanical engineering \u2013 from driving dynamics<\/strong> and prototype construction<\/strong> to automation, machining<\/strong>, and design<\/strong> to 3D printing<\/strong>. He impressively demonstrated how theoretical knowledge from university studies is implemented in industrial practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Module for monitoring the status of the traction power supply presented<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

His presentation of the WOLTRONIC SNM \u2013 Sensor Network Module<\/strong>, which is used to monitor the status of the traction power supply<\/strong> and other parts of the railway infrastructure<\/strong>, aroused particular interest. The innovative system enables precise and continuous recording of relevant data, making the maintenance and operation of railway systems more efficient and safer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students engaged enthusiastically with the content of the presentation, which highlighted the connection between their studies and industrial applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Fischer<\/a> is a graduate of UAS Technikum Wien<\/strong> and exemplifies the diverse career paths that can result from studying at Austria’s largest purely technical university of applied sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
