Saskia Huemer, graduate of the Master’s program in <\/strong>User Experience Management<\/strong><\/a> at Technikum Wien Academy<\/strong>, presented her paper \u201cDesigning with \u2018Intelligence\u2019? Exploring the Limits of AI-Based UX Tools\u201d at IHIET 2025 at the University of Vienna\u2014a successful conclusion to a seven-year educational journey at UAS Technikum Wien with three successfully completed degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The co-author of the paper and reviewer of the master’s thesis was Benedikt Salzbrunn (head of the Master’s program in User Experience Management<\/a> at Technikum Wien Academy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International forum for research on human interaction and emerging technologies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The IHIET Conference Series is regarded as an international forum for research on human interaction and emerging technologies; the 2025 edition took place from August 25 to 27 at the University of Vienna. The scientific program included tracks ranging from human-centered design to human-computer interaction and brought together an international audience of experts in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contribution by Saskia Huemer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The paper presented analyzes the possibilities and limitations of AI-supported UX tools along a continuous human-centered design process. In a multi-stage review, 106 tools were screened, 23 were evaluated in depth, and two were tested in practice in the case of a university website (including AI-moderated interviews and usability tests). The results reveal gaps between process phases and demonstrate the need for targeted human intervention as well as differences in quality compared to the work of experienced UX professionals. The article is available in open access in the IHIET 2025 Proceedings (ISBN 978-1-964867-73-1; DOI: 10.54941\/ahfe1006693).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program and proceedings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Saskia’s presentation is listed in the final program of IHIET 2025; the scientific sessions took place at W\u00e4hringer Stra\u00dfe 29 (Faculty of Computer Science, University of Vienna). The accompanying proceedings of the IHIET series document current work on human interaction and emerging technologies and are published in a bundled form by the conference series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Saskia Huemer first completed a bachelor’s degree in business informatics<\/a> at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, then a master’s degree in software engineering<\/a>, and finally a master’s course in user experience management at the Technikum Wien Academy<\/a> \u2013 a comprehensive expansion of her skills from technology and economics to UX strategy and management. The Academy’s master’s program qualifies students for holistic UX roles with a focus on research and prototyping to management and soft skills, in a practical and part-time format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaboration and note<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The conference was brought to our attention by Dominik Dolezal, who teaches at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, the Technikum Wien Academy, and the University of Vienna. The host of IHIET 2025 was the University of Vienna<\/a>. This event thus completes the circle of a long-standing collaboration between students, teachers, and institutions \u2013 with visibility in an international conference series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
