As part of the course &#8220;Sports Equipment Practice \u2013 Theory, Application, and Analysis,&#8221; fifth-semester students met at the <a href=\"https:\/\/climbonmarswiese.at\/\">Climb On Marswiese<\/a> climbing hall to put their theoretical knowledge into practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two-day workshop offered participants an ideal opportunity to apply and deepen the basics of climbing equipment, safety techniques, and biomechanical principles they had previously learned through self-study. Under the guidance of state-certified climbing guides, the students learned the correct climbing and safety techniques and analyzed various scenarios from everyday climbing. Particularly exciting were the investigations into bouldering falls on mats of varying hardness and the analysis of the accelerations acting during lead climbing falls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the workshop, the focus is on follow-up work in independent study: the students evaluate the recorded data and create scientific posters that clearly summarize the results and findings of the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The climbing workshop is an example of the practical and interdisciplinary education offered in the &#8220;Sports Engine ering and Ergonomics&#8221; degree program. By combining theory and practice, students are optimally prepared for the challenges of sports and exercise science.
