Earlier in November, University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien was delighted to welcome seven colleagues from the Faculty of IT & Design of our partner institution The Hague University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands)<\/a> for a three-day visit focused on teaching innovation, applied research, and international cooperation. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, explore joint initiatives, and strengthen our partnership within the European higher education and research landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing Expertise in User Experience and Artificial Intelligence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first day centered on User Experience in Teaching and Further Education, with discussions on curriculum design, laboratory learning, and insights from the Technikum Wien Academy’s<\/a>
User Experience<\/a> initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The afternoon continued with an engaging session on AI in Teaching and Further Education and the AI Academy, sparking lively discussions about integrating artificial intelligence into educational practice. The Technikum Wien Academy<\/a> offers continuing education in the field of artificial intelligence<\/a>: in line with the concept of lifelong learning, seminars and boot camps are available for individuals and companies.

The day concluded with a joint dinner and a stroll back to the hotel across a few local Christmas markets, where participants had the chance to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and continue informal conversations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research, Development, and Future Collaboration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The second day opened with two thematic sessions, featuring presentations of two projects of our Faculty of Life Science Engineering, IDERHA<\/a> and BERTL<\/a>, and continued with highlighting ongoing activities at our EnergyBase<\/a>. Later, our Dutch partners were introduced to the Bachelor\u2019s Programme in Computer Science, including its project-based learning pilot, work-integrated study program, and exchange opportunities within DevOps education. The afternoon focused on research and funding opportunities, exploring potential collaborations within Horizon Europe<\/em> and FFG<\/em> funding schemes, as well as future Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships<\/em>.

A subsequent AI Working Group meeting and a presentation on AI in Education provided space for exchange and reflection on shared priorities on Thursday morning. The visit concluded with laboratory tours showcasing our Embedded Systems Lab and Drones\/UAV Lab, followed by a brief wrap-up session before our guests made their way home after three intensive and productive days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking Ahead<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The visit not only deepened mutual understanding of each institution\u2019s strengths but also laid the groundwork for future joint initiatives in both teaching and research. We look forward to continuing this productive collaboration and to meeting again soon, either in Austria, the Netherlands, or online!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
