UAS Technikum Wien has launched a partnership with the St. Gilgen International School<\/a> (Flachgau, Salzburg) as part of its Master\u2019s program in Renewable Energy Engineering<\/a>. The goal is to give students the opportunity to test their own projects related to fluid mechanics in the wind tunnel at UAS Technikum Wien\u2019s ENERGYbase<\/a>. This provides young talents with practical insights into experimental aerodynamics and engineering methodology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aerodynamic effects visualized in model testing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A first test run has already been successfully conducted: A student investigated the influence of the Halo driver protection system on drag in Formula 1 race cars. The measurements demonstrated how aerodynamic effects can be visualized and quantified in model experiments. The test was supported by students and the program\u2019s lab team, who assisted with the measurement setup, sensor technology, and data analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaboration is intended to continue strengthening the bridge between school and university and to specifically promote the next generation of STEM talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
