UAS Technikum Wien had a special reason to celebrate: With \u201cBeneath The Quiet: Where It Ends,\u201d a game developed by UAS Technikum Wien won the <a href=\"https:\/\/pgda.at\/talent-award\/\">PGDA Talent Award<\/a> for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the game \u201cI3ergsteiger,\u201d developed by master\u2019s students at UAS Technikum Wien, had narrowly missed winning the PGDA Talent Award the previous year, this year was finally their moment. At the awards ceremony on May 24, 2026, \u201cBeneath The Quiet: Where It Ends\u201d prevailed against competitors from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and HTL Spengergasse on the main Community Stage, bringing the award to UAS Technikum Wien for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">\u201cBeneath The Quiet: Where It Ends\u201d was available for festival visitors to try out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBeneath The Quiet: Where It Ends\u201d was developed by Botond Kov\u00e1cs together with a colleague. Botond Kov\u00e1cs completed both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/studiengaenge\/bachelor-informatik\/\">Bachelor\u2019s in Computer Science<\/a> and the Master\u2019s in AI Engineering at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences (UAS Technikum Wien), choosing the Game Engineering specialization in both programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The game was nominated for the shortlist of the PGDA Talent Awards 2026 and presented at its own booth during the festival. The developers were accompanied by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/personal\/alexander-nimmervoll\/\">Alexander Nimmervoll<\/a>, course instructor for the Development Project. The Development Project course was previously part of the Gaming specialization in the Master\u2019s in AI Engineering and will be offered starting in fall 2026 as part of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/studiengaenge\/master-creative-and-human-centered-technology\/\">Master\u2019s program in Creative and Human-Centered Technology<\/a>. \u201cBeneath The Quiet: Where It Ends\u201d was tested by numerous festival visitors and was very well received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">New Master\u2019s Program Combines Technology, Creativity, and Game Engineering<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the new Master\u2019s program in Creative and Human-Centered Technology, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/fakultaeten\/computer-science-applied-mathematics\/\">Faculty of Computer Sciences &amp; Applied Mathematics<\/a> is further expanding its offerings. The new master\u2019s program will launch in September 2026 and combines technology, creativity, and game engineering. Graduates will be able to develop innovative games, immersive experiences, and forward-looking digital applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, the master\u2019s programs in AI Engineering and Data Science\u2014which were previously offered separately\u2014will be merged into the new master\u2019s program in Artificial Intelligence &amp; Data Science starting in September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The winning team was awarded a booth at the world-famous and largest gaming trade show, Gamescom, in Cologne\u2014which took place from August 26 to August 30, 2026\u2014as well as a six-month mentoring program supported by established studios and experienced local developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Game Information: First-Person Horror Game<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*Beneath The Quiet: Where It Ends* is a psychological first-person horror game. An ultimatum from the bank forces you to return to your childhood home in Miskolc.
