Generative AI, large language models, and autonomous systems have opened up new possibilities for application\u2014while at the same time, the demands placed on the development, integration, and responsible use of AI systems are increasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UAS Technikum Wien is responding to this trend with a comprehensive redesign of its master\u2019s program in Artificial Intelligence, established in 2020. Under the name <strong>Artificial Intelligence &amp; Data Science<\/strong>, the new curriculum\u2014starting in fall 2026\u2014will integrate foundational technical and algorithmic knowledge even more closely with current technologies and their practical applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Applications for fall 2027 open in October 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the very high number of applications, all available spots for the fall 2026 intake have already been filled, despite an increase in the number of admission spots to 90. Therefore, no further applications for this academic year can be accepted. These include, among others, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and big data analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, the new curriculum places greater emphasis on the skills that are crucial for the professional application of AI in companies and organizations: <strong>MLOps, Machine Learning Engineering, AI &amp; Data Law, AI &amp; Data Ethics, as well as Explainable and Trustworthy AI and AI Security<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cArtificial intelligence is one of the most strategically important topics of our time. Graduates are in high demand, and a wide range of career paths are open to them,\u201d says <strong>Bernhard Knapp, program director of the Master\u2019s program in Artificial Intelligence &amp; Data Science at UAS Technikum Wien<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Individual Specializations and Real-World AI Projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through several elective modules, students can choose their own areas of specialization. Options include Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Autonomous AI Systems and Reinforcement Learning, Robotics AI, Predictive Maintenance, and Machine Learning Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Working on concrete projects remains an essential component of the program. Through project-based learning, students tackle real-world problems and apply methods and technologies from AI and data science in practical settings. As a result, the program is designed for individuals who not only want to apply AI systems in the abstract but also wish to gain a deep understanding of how they work and translate that knowledge into professional applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Potential career fields range from <strong>AI engineering, machine learning, and data science<\/strong> to data engineering, AI project management, product development, innovation, and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-ovl-heading\" data-accent=\"true\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-style-level=\"h4\">Taught in English and designed for working professionals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting in the 2026\/27 academic year, the master\u2019s program will be offered entirely in <strong>English<\/strong> and is designed for working professionals. It comprises <strong>four semesters and 120 ECTS<\/strong> and leads to the academic degree of <strong>Master of Science (MSc)<\/strong>. Classes are held in the evening. Typically, <strong>60 spots<\/strong> are available each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Admission requires a relevant bachelor\u2019s degree or an equivalent university degree.
