Master\u2019s degree programs build on a completed bachelor\u2019s degree program and allow students to specialize or focus on topics in more detail or to expand their existing expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must meet subject-matter requirements to be admitted to the Information Systems Management master\u2019s degree program. Prerequisites include a bachelor\u2019s degree from a UAS in a relevant subject matter or an equivalent degree from a recognized post-secondary educational institution (at least 180 ECTS credits) in Austria or another country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If basic equivalence has been established except for a few missing prerequisites, the program director can require students to take exams to establish full equivalence. These exams are taken during the master\u2019s program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bachelor’s certificate must be submitted no later than November 15, 2022.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

When is my bachelor\u2019s degree considered relevant?
<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The relevance of bachelor degrees is determined as follows, with a distinction made between full and basic equivalence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Full equivalence<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Full equivalence is determined by completion of the following courses sorted by study program groups, by way of example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computer Science, Software<\/div><\/th><\/tr><\/thead>
Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mobile Computing, Information and Communication Systems<br><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div>\n\n\n\n


Students who have completed a course of study from these groups meet the requirements for the Master’s degree in Information Systems Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Basic equivalence<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Basic equivalence is established if approximately 60 ECTS credits have been completed in five to seven core subjects. The core subjects are key requirements that students should already have mastered in order to successfully complete the master\u2019s degree program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basic principles of business administration (e.g. accounting, marketing and sales, cost accounting, general business administration, logistics, business management and organization)<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
Basic principles of programming (e.g. object-oriented programming, system and software components, mobile development, Web technologies)<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
Structural sciences (e.g. basic principles of mathematics, basic principles of statistics)<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
Information management (e.g. databases)<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
Basic principles of business informatics (e.g. operational applications systems, project management, e-commerce)<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
Basic principles of modeling (e.g. business process modeling, object-oriented system modeling, data modeling, business process analysis)<\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If such equivalence basically exists, and only a few elements are missing to achieve full equivalence, supplementary exams amounting to a maximum of 30 ECTS must be submitted at a later date to achieve full equivalence. If the required supplementary exams exceed 30 ECTS, the admission criteria shall not be deemed met.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What prerequisites do I need to meet if I am applying from outside Austria?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Degree program applicants must have language skills<\/strong> equivalent to level B2 or higher of the Common European Framework Reference for Languages and must be able to submit a certificate of their proficiency. Applicants who have a diploma or university degree in the language of instruction are not required to provide a certificate of their proficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A number of documents <\/strong>(e.g. leaving certificates) are required to show that you meet the admission requirements for a Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree. If your documents were issued abroad, you will need to have these certified in line with the relevant guidelines so that they can be recognized in Austria \u2013 and thus by UAS Technikum Vienna. If your documents have not been issued in German or in English, you must also submit a German or English translation which must also meet certain criteria. You can select the country in which your documents were issued on the following page, from which you are then forwarded to the associated legalization regulations and translation rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program director can determine on an individual basis whether an applicant meets admission requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
