Dr Liu wird seinen Vortrag <strong>XR Experiences to Scale and Enhance Learning Manufacturing and Analysis and Skills <\/strong>am <strong>Dienstag 25.03. von 15:15 \u2013 16:10 in F0.02 <\/strong>halten und danach f\u00fcr Q&amp;A zur Verf\u00fcgung stehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Abstract: The economy and national security of nations depend on its ability to innovate and produce. STEM skills are in the critical path to compete in this technologically-dependent, post-COVID world. Digital learning environments such as those offered in extended reality (XR) can scale learning, but they often facilitate lower-level cognitive thinking, script the learning pathway, or are disconnected from authentic assessment. In this talk, I will first\u00a0highlight the potential impact effective workforce solutions can have on individuals and companies. I will then explore crafting extended reality experiences for learning analysis and hands-on skills within manufacturing contexts, ranging from machine shops to online courses.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dr. John Liu: The MIT Learning Engineering and Practice Group (LEAP Group), led by Dr. John Liu, applies design and systems principles to solving challenges in learning and develops learning experiences to better meet the increasing demand for STEM skills in tomorrow\u2019s workforce.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>John Liu is a Digital Learning Lab Scientist and a Lecturer in MIT&#8217;s Mechanical Engineering department. He leads education and workforce development efforts for MIT&#8217;s new initiative: Manufacturing@MIT. Dr. Liu&#8217;s work includes engineering education, mixed reality and haptic experiences, workforce solutions to address the nation-wide manufacturing skills need, open-ended assessments for scalable
