Dieses Projekt soll durch die Kombination von Erfahrungen aus dem Tissue Engineering bzw. der 3D Zellkultivierung mithilfe von Biomaterialien (FHTW) mit Methoden der Nuklearmedizin (MedUni Wien) zur Entwicklung eines neuen Testsystems f\u00fcr Radiotracer f\u00fchren. Das neuentwickelte System soll zu einer effizienteren PET-Tracerentwicklung (PET&#8230; Positronen-Emissions-Tomographie) und damit genaueren Detektierung und angepassten Therapie von Krebsgewebe beitragen. Weiters hat Spheriograph das Potential die ben\u00f6tigten Tierversuche im Rahmen einer Medikamentenentwicklung deutlich zu reduzieren.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div data-block=\"grid-column\" \u201cBioengineering &amp; Molecular Life Science Technologies\u201d (https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/forschungsschwerpunkt-tissue-engineering-molecular-life-science-technologies\/). He leads interdisciplinary research integrating engineering, biology, and materials science, with a focus on biomaterial development and tendon, muscle, and nerve tissue engineering.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>His work centers on the use of structural proteins\u2014particularly silk fibroin, as well as collagen and fibrin\u2014as functional materials in biomedical applications. He received his Venia docendi in 2020 in \u201cStructural Proteins as Materials in Biomedical Engineering\u201d from TU Wien and was a guest researcher at Tufts University (Boston) in 2016 in the lab of David Kaplan.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>He has developed innovative silk-processing technologies, including methods for sericin removal and controlled fiber architecture, enabling the translation of silk into clinically relevant regenerative solutions. He also contributed to understanding molecular mechanisms of regeneration, including shockwave-induced cell activation.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>As coordinator of the City of Vienna project reacTIssue (2012), he initiated bioreactor development at UAS Technikum Wien, forming the basis for subsequent programs such as signalTissue.
