\u201cBioengineering &amp; Molecular Life Science Technologies\u201d (https:\/\/www.technikum-wien.at\/forschungsschwerpunkt-tissue-engineering-molecular-life-science-technologies\/). He leads interdisciplinary research integrating engineering, biology, and materials science, with a focus on biomaterial development and tendon, muscle, and nerve tissue engineering.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>His work centers on the use of structural proteins\u2014particularly silk fibroin, as well as collagen and fibrin\u2014as functional materials in biomedical applications. He received his Venia docendi in 2020 in \u201cStructural Proteins as Materials in Biomedical Engineering\u201d from TU Wien and was a guest researcher at Tufts University (Boston) in 2016 in the lab of David Kaplan.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>He has developed innovative silk-processing technologies, including methods for sericin removal and controlled fiber architecture, enabling the translation of silk into clinically relevant regenerative solutions. He also contributed to understanding molecular mechanisms of regeneration, including shockwave-induced cell activation.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>As coordinator of the City of Vienna project reacTIssue (2012), he initiated bioreactor development at UAS Technikum Wien, forming the basis for subsequent programs such as signalTissue. Mit einem Schwerpunkt auf produzierender Industrie und intelligente Robotik bzw. Automatisierungssysteme ist in diesem Kontext das Kompetenzfeld prim\u00e4re Anlaufstelle an der FH Technikum Wien zur Umsetzung von Forschungsprojekten sowie Durchf\u00fchrung von akademischen Lehrveranstaltungen. Basierend darauf werden beispielsweise Produktionsanlagen gebaut und Roboter integriert. Einerseits sind bis heute Spezialanwendungen mechatronisch fordernde Projekte. Andererseits gilt es heute neben den technologischen Aspekten die Mechatronik f\u00fcr die Gesellschaft gewinnbringend einzusetzen. Beide dieser Herausforderungen sind Teil der T\u00e4tigkeiten des Kompetenzfelds Digital Manufacturing, Automation &amp; Robotics.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Lehrangebot: Die Mechatronik ist die Basis f\u00fcr unser Tun. Dementsprechend bietet das Kompetenzfeld grundlegende akademische Lehrveranstaltungen f\u00fcr fr\u00fche Semester von Bachelorstudieng\u00e4ngen an. Diese Lehrveranstaltungen sind das Fundament f\u00fcr h\u00f6here Semester. Das Team kann dabei auf Industriehardware zur\u00fcckgreifen, um den Studierenden eine praxisnahe Ausbildung zu erm\u00f6glichen.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Forschung: Die Mechatronik ist einerseits Basis f\u00fcr jene FuE Projekte, wo Maschinen eingesetzt werden. Nichtsdestotrotz ist ein aktueller Schwerpunkt nicht die technologische Weiterf\u00fchrung und akademische Forschung, sondern die Nutzung von mechatronischen Systemen um Probleme zu l\u00f6sen, die einen positiven Impact auf unsere Gesellschaft haben k\u00f6nnen. Zusammen mit Forschungspartner*innen aus den Sozialwissenschaften arbeitet das Kompetenzfeld Digital Manufacturing, Automation &amp; Robotics an der Implementierung von mechatronischen Systemen zur Unterst\u00fctzung von Menschen. Im Zentrum der Forschung stehen flexible und intelligente Produktionssysteme basierend auf Robotersysteme unterschiedlicher Hersteller. Dank Unterst\u00fctzung der Industrie verf\u00fcgt das Kompetenzfeld \u00fcber das gr\u00f6\u00dfte Labor f\u00fcr Industrierobotik in \u00d6sterreich. Einerseits ist dies nicht immer durch klassische Methoden der Ingenieurswissenschaften umsetzbar. Andererseits ist besonders in Anbetracht des Fachkr\u00e4ftemangels die Nutzung von Robotern heute schlichtweg nicht m\u00f6glich. Solche Dienstleistungen reichen von simplen Transportaufgaben in einem industriellen Kontext \u00fcber autonome PKW zu mobilem Roboter im Katastrophenschutz. Anders als Industrieroboter sind Serviceroboter nicht station\u00e4r \u2013 sie bewegen sich frei im Raum. Einerseits besteht Einsturzgefahr, und andererseits kann es durch austretende Substanzen zu Lebensgefahr kommen. Unter anderem werden effiziente L\u00f6sungen f\u00fcr den Neubau, aber auch f\u00fcr bestehende Geb\u00e4ude und Quartiere in Kombination mit dem Einsatz von lokalen erneuerbaren Energiequellen entwickelt. Ein m\u00f6gliches Ziel dabei ist, bilanziell mehr Energie vor Ort zu erzeugen als verbraucht wird (Plusenergiegeb\u00e4ude\/- quartiere), um diese klimaneutral betreiben zu k\u00f6nnen. Des Weiteren werden intelligente L\u00f6sungen zur Speicherung und Lastveschiebungen erneuerbarer Energie-\u00dcbersch\u00fcsse, z.B. durch die Nutzung der Geb\u00e4udemasse, entwickelt. Diese L\u00f6sungen tragen dazu bei, den \u00f6sterreichischen Strombedarf bis 2030 bilanziell zu 100% aus Erneuerbaren decken zu k\u00f6nnen, sowie die allgemeinen \u00f6sterreichischen Klimaziele f\u00fcr 2040 zu unterst\u00fctzen und so zum Gelingen der Energiewende aktiv beizutragen.
